Inter Milan will not be selling Nicolo Barella this summer. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Serie A champions consider the young midfielder untouchable , which practically means they won t be taking any offers into consideration even if they do arrive.
Barella is a product of the academy at Cagliari, where he earned first-team promotion in 2014 at only 17. Two years later, he had a half-season loan spell with Como, and Inter also took him on an initial loan in 2019, which was made permanent for a reported fee of €32.5m the following summer.
Now 24 and fresh from his heroics at the Euro 2020, Barella has been linked with Liverpool, who are searching for a suitable replacement for Geroginio Wijnaldum. Manchester United have also been credited with interest in his services, but Romano says neither of these clubs has expressed an interest, and even if they had, Inter wouldn t be interested in selling. The same goes for Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, who has been linked with a return to Chelsea.
There’s nothing going on between Manchester United or Liverpool with Inter to sign Nicoló Barella. He’s not for sale this summer Inter consider Barella ‘untouchable’ despite rumours.
The club have the same position also on Romelu Lukaku as of today.
