It's Raining Inside SoFi Stadium During the College Football National Title Game

data-mm-id=”_zq3b9f6ix”>The College Football Playoff National Championship game is being played at SoFi Stadium for the first time Monday night and things have gotten a bit weird. Georgia is blowing TCU out on the field, while fans are being rained on in the stands. In case you're wondering, yes, SoFi Stadium has a roof on it. The geniuses who designed the stadium put a roof over the playing field and stands, but left the sides open to the elements. Currently rain is blowing into the stands sideways. It’s pouring rain outside … and it’s blowing into the open air sections of SoFi Stadium. #godawgs #CFBPlayoff pic.twitter.com/FDwzd7YC6m— Alison Mastrangelo (@AlisonWSB) January 10, 2023SoFi is open air stadium. While it’s covered it’s cold and the rain blowing in sideways. pic.twitter.com/zFqx5GSNk8— Frank Sulkowski WJCL (@TheBigGuyWJCL) January 10, 2023SoFi being a hybrid indoor/outdoor stadium means it’s still really chilly in here and rain and wind are coming in. #NationalChampionship pic.twitter.com/xOBuzLf9UC— Kelly Price (@thekellyprice) January 10, 2023So not only are fans in the stands freezing from the wind tunnel created by the open sides, now they're soaked. Just a reminder, SoFi Stadium cost around $5 billion to construct.
